A Grand Quiet

Back after a hiatus I guess I never properly announced in the first place. Anyhow, now my obligation to the Bath Film Festival gas been fulfilled I can drive my attention back here. If any of you are planning on seeing some of the screenings look out for my name on the screening notes.

The break has allowed me some time to consider what I want this blog to be, the sorts of things I’d like to be posting. With that in mind I have some announcements to make regarding upcoming content.

With the release of Season Three of Black Mirror on Netflix a am entering (gently) into the world of television coverage. Reviews of the six latest episodes will be going live on consecutive Mondays starting on the 24th.

Also starting soon is an irregular series, retrospective reviews of classics. I haven’t thought of a name for this one yet, though i can reveal the first subject will be Mike Leigh’s 1999 masterpiece Topsy Turvy. I also don’t want to just limit this to just feature films, there’s more out there in the world and much of it is easy to find.

Finally I’m going to tease a mystery project here. Partly because i like to keep y’all in suspense, and partly because I ain’t sure if it’s got legs yet.

For the next couple of weeks though expect some cold takes for all the films I’ve been unable to write properly about over the past two weeks. It’s good to be here.
